Local award-winning journalist Beth (Elizabeth) Salway Ryan left a large legacy which included documenting local events like the annual Lion’s Club pancake breakfast fundraiser. Ryan was the news editor for the Lake Oswego Review from 1946 to 1968. Family members will share her story, reminiscing about her writing, her photos, farm living, growing up in Oswego and what her legacy means to the community. Join us at the Tualatin Heritage Center on Wednesday, Jan 7, to hear this remarkable woman’s story arranged by THS member Nancy Dunis. The family farm was located in the Sunnyhill neighborhood off Stafford Rd across from Luscher Farm and near Oswego Pioneer Cemetery. The Beth Ryan Nature Preserve in Lake Oswego is named in her honor.
